After 24 hours…

We are totally exhausted. It has been really, really fun. The final touch on our project was to change the color of the border to “Flick Pink”, a real Web 2.0 color… What we now have is a system that collects and categorizes outgoing and incoming calls, records them as mp3, notifies the web UI about ongoing calls, lets the user annotate the call while it’s taking place, and imports e-mails and sorts them according to clients and contacts.

It’s been a rollercoaster. From the great hype when we finally succeeded in connecting our system with the switchboard Asterisk, to the low point at 5 o’clock in the morning, when we were ready to throw in the towel. We decided to recharge in the yasuragi bath, a power recharche of about 30 minutes – the longest pause we took during 24 hours of intense hacking and speaking to salesmen.

That turnaround really paid off, since during the final six hours we managed to tie the whole project together, and it actually can record calls and notify salespeople about ongoing calls.

Good night.
